Sometimes, some restaurants, do not receive their due share of appreciation possibly because people do not know about it. Or sometimes because of their location. Location definitely plays a huge role in the footfall received by a restaurant.
MFM is one such place. Opened in DFC over 6 months ago, I had not even known about this place though I visit the mall almost every week. Located in one corner of the food court, there are chances you’ll never stumble upon it, until you intentionally decide to head here.
Looking through Entertainer at where to dine at DFC, we thought to give this place a try – since I love seafood. And I am so glad we did!
The staff are very polite, and they give you recommendations that surely benefit you. The interiors are tasteful. They play some lovely music too.
For drinks I got the Cala-Cala, a citrusy combination of Calamansi and lemon fizz. It was very refreshing.
Tried their Salmon Chowder – and it was very good as well. So far, so good!
For mains we ordered the Curry Hill Seafood (Lobster, Mussels and Fish in a curry brother served with bread) and Small Grill (Fish fillet, Prawns and Squids, served with rice, veg and French fries). Both of these were so good. My favourite was the Curry Hill, but mind you it’s spicy on your palate.
The sweet deal is that they have the Entertainer, even though their prices are very affordable for what they offer. The location within DFC surely does not do justice to this place.
Going back? Most certainly I am. And I would highly recommend you try them as well.
Last Friday, headed to Bertin for their brunch. Was my 1st time here, and why had I not been here before!
I love places that have a galore of sunlight emitting through its full glass interiors. Perfect to have a coffee or breakfast or that brunch on a lazy Friday afternoon.
Priced at AED 75, the brunch at Bertin includes a selection of breakfast items prepared to order, a buffet selection of salads, breads, main course and pastries, plus a made to order Pain Perdu. Unfortunately this price includes no drinks (no coffee, no water, nothing). But the amazing staff here were absolutely kind to not charge me for the Ginger Lemonade and Cappuccino that I ordered. It’s surely the little things that matter.
From the breakfast selection, I SO recommend the Egg Benedict Cheese Souffle with Mushrooms. Nothing like I’ve even eaten before. SO. GOOD.
From the main the course, the Roast Chicken with Mushroom Sauce was beautiful. I am not chicken fan myself, but this was so delicious.
And lastly, their much talked about Pain Perdu. My 1st time trying it, and whilst I did like it, I found parts of it to be quiet dry whilst some parts were really moist. Not sure if that’s how it needs to be.
But overall, I loved every bit of my experience here. The staff are a real delight.
Going back? Can’t wait!
It is no hidden fact that besides that affordable and desirable furniture, Ikea restaurant is highly spoken about too. Their breakfast which once upon a time cost AED 4, had people flocking here.
The meat balls with mashed potato and gravy are sure a best seller and my favourite. Recently I tried their Seafood Paella, and I must say I was impressed. It was very flavourful and generous.
You don’t need to intend buying furniture to dine here. The next time you are in the area, do pass by and you will not be disappointed.
Going back? I sure am!
